Nearly 60 men and women took to the lush fairways of Southeastern Massachusetts’ hidden gem, Walpole Country Club for the first of two Ouimet Society outings on the heels of the Independence Day holiday. On the line were the Scheft and Ellison trophies as the day featured a mixed husband/wife competition as well as a traditional four-ball format. The teams of Jim and Mary Moriarty (Mount Pleasant GC) and Pam Allen (Charter Oak CC) and Ed Frackiewicz (Oak Hill CC) will have their named permanently etched on the Scheft hardware. The foursome of Steve Boush, John Palermo, Glenn Stewart and Nick Tessitore used their home course knowledge to their advantage firing a net 57 to claim victory in the overall division.
The Fund will hold its second Society outing on October 1 at The Ridge Club in Sandwich. Learn more here!
