On Wednesday, June 15, current Scholars were joined by Endowed Scholarship donors, Ouimet Directors, and other friends of The Fund at the 9th Annual Investing in Lifetimes Endowed Scholarship Reception. The reception was held at Wellesley Country Club, and a strong turnout produced a memorable evening!
The night began with a reception offering the chance for many of the creators of Endowed Scholarships to connect with the current student recipients. This is always a highlight of the Ouimet year as our supporters catch up with the direct beneficiaries of their support, hearing of the students’ accomplishments and future plans.
A speaking program followed, punctuated by Jetta Rose Garrity and Michael Giansanti, two current Scholars and Endowed Scholarship recipients. Both Jetta and Michael touched on the opportunities provided by the Fund, as well as the pursuit of unique passions which would not have been possible without the financial support of the Ouimet Scholarship. In addition, Jetta and Michael are both graduates of the Dale Carnegie program for Ouimet Scholars. Fund President Dick Reilly touched on the growth of Endowed awards in the past year, as well as the overall strength of the Endowed Scholarship program. The creation of two new Endowed scholarships so far in 2011 was also announced – the Fordie Pitts, Jr. and John Reilly awards.
