25th Onstott Invitational creates
Dave Page and John Watt Scholarships
The 25th Invitational was played at Brae Burn Country Club on Monday, August 9 and its proceeds created new Ouimet endowed scholarships. Ouimet Director Joe Onstott and his wife, Pat Campbell, Ouimet Society Lifetime members, organized the event. Two years ago they used the event to create an endowed scholarship in the name of Joe’s late son, Kevin Onstott.
David Page was a devoted father of three children, loving husband and avid golfer. He was an active member of the Bald peak Colony Club in Melvin Village, NH, Calusa Pines in Naples, FL and Brae Burn. Always a competitor and fighter, he battled kidney cancer for over five years. His widow, Nancy Page, accepted a special plaque from Mr. Onstott and The Ouimet fund in a moving ceremony that announced the establishment of the award.
John Watt was born I 1922 in Southern California and passed away in December 2007. He served as a naval aviator in World War II in North Africa. He enjoyed a successful career in manufacturing.
Mr. Watt was an active golfer and traveler and enjoyed many trips with his wife and friends. He was a member of Woods Hole Golf Club, Milton Hoosic Club, Sea sland in Georgia and Willoughby GC in Stuart, FL. He was a Ouimet Fund supporter.
