Who Should Endow A Scholarship?
The ideal candidate is someone who has a deep affinity for golf, or has or had a parent or loved one who shares that deep affinity for golf, and who would like to be permanently associated with golf, Francis Ouimet and education. Family members, for instance, may together create an award in the name of their Mom or Dad. Other candidates include companies or clubs and organizations that are close to golf. Members of those organizations may collectively donate and may even approach vendors to contribute to a special cause.

How Can I Ensure That My Philanthropic Goals Are Realized?
The Ouimet Fund's endowed scholarship program allows the donor to personalize a scholarship by determining restrictions that are important to them. Current Ouimet endowed scholarships include awards for Ouimet Scholars who are planning to attend law school, outstanding business students, scholars from a particular club, or from a region of the state, a female scholar, an inner-city scholar, and students intending to pursue a specific career path. Donors may create their award with very defined restrictions or in broader terms, or the donor can opt to allow The Fund to select a deserving recipient. Regardless of the design of the specific award, the donor receives the benefit of knowing that 100% of the dollars contributed are invested and 100% of the revenue from the investment goes to scholarships.

What Will I Receive For My Contribution?
Most importantly you will receive the satisfaction that comes with realizing your goal of helping young people attain their college dreams. You will also receive information from The Fund detailing the student(s) who will be receiving your scholarship. Also, you will be invited to an annual reception honoring endowed scholarship donors and recipients at the Golf House. New endowments are announced to the local and golf media and annually the winners are also announced to the press. As a token of our gratitude, you will also receive a special “Francis Ouimet and Eddie Lowery” framed plaque which is presented to each sponsor or honoree usually at one of our events. Awards are listed annually in this publication and are permanently engraved on a special recognition board at the Ouimet Fund offices at the TPC of Boston.
