The Francis Ouimet Scholarship Fund
The Francis Ouimet Scholarship Fund was founded in 1949. Since the day he insisted that Eddie Lowery carry his bag in the 1913 US Open, Mr. Ouimet was known for his interest in helping young people. The Ouimet Fund has continued that legacy proudly for sixty years. Since 1949, it has awarded over $20.5 million in need based college tuition assistance to young people who have given at least two years of service to golf as caddies or worked in pro shop or course superintendent operations in Massachusetts.

The Ouimet scholarship is unique in that it is renewable for up to four years. Ouimet awards range from $1,500 to $7,500 per year, depending on financial need and ranking in our competitive evaluation process. The value of the award over four years can be $10,000 to $25,000 or more. Over 4,600 young people have received Ouimet scholarships, and many have gone on to high positions of leadership in business and professional careers.
The Francis Ouimet Scholarship Fund is a 501 (c) (3) organization. It is supported by contributions from golfers, clubs, corporations and golf organizations throughout Massachusetts. It is considered The Golf Charity of Massachusetts.
